This four pound jar of shaving cream was prepared for the barber trade only. Originally developed in 1914, it was sold in small cobalt blue jars as a sunburn remedy. It was also popular among women as a facial cleanser and make-up remover. Since the introduction of Noxema, the brand name has appeared on shaving cream, razors and skin-cleansing cloths.
