This vintage school desk with attached chair proceeded school furniture of today. There was a drawer under the seat for storing books and school supplies. Note the small hole in the desk top with the round bracket below that held a ink bottle used for writing in ink before ball point pens, Since the desk top was slanted, there was a grove along the top edge to place a pencil or pen to keep it from rolling off the desk.
