WALL THERMOMETER

This wall thermometer dates back to the 1920's.  The S. Nagle Coal & Grain Company supplied  Grain, Hay, Straw and Poultry Supplies.  They were located in Ho-Ho-Kus and Ridgewood.  The telephone number at the bottom on the thermometer reads "PHONE 998".

COAL SCUTTLE

The coal scuttle was used for holding coal for indoor fireplaces or coal stoves and heaters.  It had a tapered shape to allow for ease in pouring coal onto a fire.

MINIATURE STEAM FARM TRACTOR TOY

This miniature toy tractor is the type of toy that young boys played with years ago.  Most children grew up on family farms therefore their toys were centered around farm life.  This toy shows a steam engine that was the method by which farm tractors were propelled prior to gasoline and diesel engines.
